TIPS FOR MAXIMISING PROTECTION
| Parts should be cleaned and dried thoroughly before packing. A de-watering agent may be used to remove residual moisture from parts. |
| Parts should be completely free form fingerprints. Amino Acids present in fingerprints are very corrosive. |
| Gloves are recommended for the packaging staff while handling metal parts. |
| Nothing should be placed between the surface to be protected & the VCI wrapper. Ensure that there is free exposure of VCI to all surfaces to be protected. |
| Packages may be opened & resealed for inspection. Avoid touching the metal during inspection. |
| Wooden pallets, corrugated boxes & other acidic packaging material should not come into direct physical contact with uncovered metal surfaces. |
| For excellent protection ensure that the distance between the VCI Wrapper & the metal is not more than 30 cms. |
| Use one square meter of VCI paper for one to three square meters of metal surface and at least one square meter of VCI paper for one cubic meter of void space. |
| Air tight packaging is not strictly recommended. However, for best results the package should preferably be placed in a closed box or bag. |
| Unused VCI products should be stored in original wrapping ina cool, dark and dry place away from direct sunlight. |
| Variation in shade & colour of VCI paper do not affect the performance of VCI. |
| We strongly recommend users to test the VCI products for compatibility in new applications prior to full use for best results. |
| The duration of protection is affected by factors such as packaging method, temperature, humidity, airflow etc. Under normal conditions the duration is 1 to 2 years. Under good conditions the duration is 2 + years. |
